Eclipse by zirconicusso; freedigitalphotos.netEclipses grab our attention. But why? People talk about them for a short time, some watch them, then they pass, right? No big deal. Or are they? Let’s take a look.

In astrology and numerology, we look at both the tangible and the intangible. Eclipses of the Sun or Moon are visible to the human eye (tangible) and vary energy flow (often intangible). The impacts generally are felt the strongest in the regions where the eclipse can be seen and can show suddenly or ripple over time. Impacts can be felt for up to 3 ½ years, depending on the length of the eclipse itself.

The partial Solar Eclipse on September 12th or 13th (based on global location) highlighted Antarctica and parts of southern Africa. Yet no major news stories arose from that region following the eclipse. Why not? This eclipse came with an attached delay factor: a Mercury retrograde, already in shadow with its strongest point of impact (a.k.a. delays, confusion, missed messages, misunderstandings) only days later. The story of whatever may be shifting in this region may take awhile to hit the world. The region still bears watching, however.

But hold on. Just because most of us were not in the area of highest impact for this eclipse, its impact would still be felt. Depending on how it triggered your personal chart and numbers code, you may have experienced a personal “eclipse” or witnessed one in someone else. For example, our wedding anniversary that day was totally “eclipsed” by my husband’s involvement in a community project. One of those overdue, now-or-never things. (Yes, my chart is lit up like a downtown city street at midnight this month.)

How would I respond to that? A-ha…now it gets personal.

Which brings me to another point. This eclipse happened at 20° in the sign of Virgo, an Earth Sign that deals with our service to the world. The eclipse also aspected the Moon’s North Node, which deals with our present impacting our future. Twenty is the highest number of relationship, urging us to view our relationships in the highest way possible while realizing they are divinely supported.

Virgo’s energy brings practicality and groundedness, yet in its lower expression can easily slip into criticism. (Oh, but it’s so justified, right? Wink!) In our case, this focus on Earth energy became literal. The project involved planting the framework for a new swing set in a community park we’ve been developing over recent years.  So I was at choice; become critical and demand that our day take precedence or view the bigger picture and appreciate that this long-awaited part of the project was taking form for the betterment of the community at large.  I must say, being able to see and understand the energy behind it reeeaaallly helped me take the high road in this.

Virgo also brings a strong emphasis on health, so some experienced or witnessed an “eclipse” in some health issue. I heard of two surgeries occurring near this eclipse; each patient struggled with coming out from under the anesthesia. That’s one reason surgery is not recommended around these times by astrological consultants. Particularly in a solar eclipse, the life force (Sun) is “eclipsed,” meaning it is temporarily blocked. This diminishes physical strength for a time.

For others this was a time of revelation that spurred them to deeper consideration of something. One person I know got the full low-down of what a kidney transplant would involve, intensifying the decision she would have to make. Again, a health issue.

For the collective, it focused the spotlight globally on the Syrian refugees and their struggle for physical survival, stirring our sense of compassion and need for change. This being a 9 calendar month heightened the emotional response even more. As the highest number in the emotional triad (3-6-9), its truest expression is deep compassion.

Both of these examples show the impact of this eclipse being attached to Chiron through opposition. Oppositions bring us to points of choice. Chiron deals with childhood or past issues not yet resolved. The kidney transplant question for this person stemmed from diabetes that developed in childhood. The Syrian refugee crisis marked the festering of unbearable refugee camp situations largely ignored for years by the world and focused attention on suffering children. Both issues had been long in the making, yet the eclipse thrust them to the next level demanding attention and choice.

While partial solar eclipses are generally less powerful than total eclipses, this one was sandwiched between two Super Moons, Full Moons on steroids. That matters.   And like any good sandwich, all the good stuff will squeeze and drizzle out as we slowly devour and digest the story behind the stories in all of this.

Take the recent U.S. Federal Reserve decision not to raise interest rates. This occurred on September 17th. The 17 indicates this decision will have long-lasting impact and since it reduces to 8 (1+7+8), it triggered the strongest business and money number in numerology. Need I remind you that we are in an 8 Universal Year? Oh, I see jelly dripping from this one already and things could get a bit sticky to say the least.

As we move toward the total Lunar Eclipse on September 27/28, we may face more surprises and events, expected and unexpected, that shake our internal and external worlds.  (A Venus-Uranus aspect also is in play.) This eclipse is visible, at least to some degree, over the Americas, Europe, Africa and part of Asia. The highest areas of impact are the eastern U.S., Central America, all of South America, western Europe, and western Africa. Yup, this is a biggie in many ways.

While Solar Eclipses traditionally initiate new beginnings, Lunar Eclipses tend to bring endings and culminations.

This Lunar Eclipse takes place at 4°40ʼ in Aries (power, initiation, independence) and aspects the South Node (fear) of the Moon (emotionality), a mathematical point that deals with our past patterns and ways of being.  The Moon likewise has to do with the past, often triggering emotions around that. Plus this eclipse is just 4 days away from the Fall Equinox, and degrees away from the Nodal Axis. That’s a lot of 4 energy! If we use that energy wisely, it too will help to keep us grounded though the shifts that occur. The number 4 represents stability, structure, form, and labor. It’s the worker’s number. Yet in its lower expression it brings stubbornness, bullying, materialism, and reluctance to release things from the past.

This, by the way, is heralded to be the most powerful Super Moon of the year. Its close proximity to Earth increases the gravitational and electromagnetic pull on the Earth—and on us. You may see physical manifestation of this like insomnia or either rock bottom or super-charged energy around this time.   The latter is far more likely.

Before you determine to charge into some new project with this energy, see it for what it is: an energy for endings. And, I will add, much pondering. Multiple astrological aspects this month creates push-pull energy. We want to act but don’t really know what to do. We see the challenges but not the solutions. We get the ideas but can’t see how to land them in practical ways. So frustrating, right? I get it. Just realize that fighting the current energy only heightens the frustration.

So what can you do?   Here’s the best way to use all this mixed energy: RELEASE, PONDER, RESEARCH, finalize a PLAN. We are now in a time of development, of final preparation. Take your time, something not easy to do in this energy. Resist the urge to jump into the gooiest parts of life before you’re ready or the “stars align.”

Here’s another thing. The Lunar Eclipse also aspects the Galactic Center at 2° Libra, bringing an evolutionary feel to what’s transpiring. Evolution takes time, so lay your plans and intentions well for the greatest impact when the time is right.

See the number 2 appear again? Yes, relationships are front and center on all levels now, not only with this relationship number but the pure energy of Libra, a sign we enter in full force September 23/24.

It’s time to start talking—and listening—to each other in new ways. Reconnect where you may have inadvertently detached. You’re in a new place now, and so is everyone else. Hold hands with those who are willing and prepare to move through these next steps together as you live the power of building unity through, or in spite of, diversity. This builds the foundations (4) for strong relationships (2) that benefit us all. Thrive, don’t just survive, in this Eclipse Season. We’ll thank you for it.

Truth Sign Shows No Lie & Accuracy, Stuart Miles; freedigitalphotos.netGet real!

That’s a challenge you don’t like to hear, right?  Defensive armor appears from nowhere.  What?  How dare they?  Who do they think they are?  They just don’t understand—nobody does!  You’re emotionally triggered into verbal fight or flight.

So what do you do when the cosmos tells you to get real?  Well, my friends, that’s exactly what’s been happening again this past week as we prepared for yet another powerful Moon activation this weekend.

The signs of Aries and Taurus are the key activators of this with a fire and earth combination that demands attention.  Late March into April, so full of Aries energy, naturally spurs more activity.  Add to that the parade of planets we’ve seen there this year and that energy intensifies.  For many it has felt like life on steroids.

When Mars (a fire planet and ruler of Aries) entered Taurus (an earth sign) April 1st, it may have felt like a relief to some.  Taurus slows…things…down.  With Mars that translated to a more deliberate power.

Venus, a money planet leading the cosmic parade, was well into Taurus as the month began—shifting our personal and collective awarenesses more firmly toward money issues.  By the way, those who didn’t leave their taxes (in the U.S.) to the last minute were wise to use this energy before the 12th when she moved into Gemini.

Mar’s entry into Taurus only served to intensify this focus on money and what we value.  Does anything present a challenge to “get real” like a tax or load repayment deadline?  Remember, money acts as a tool for learning and growth—and one of our greatest teachers here on this planet.

Right on time, Mercury entered Taurus April 15th, tax D-Day. (D-Day, deadline day, get it?  Oh, well…)  Mercury deals with facts and technology.  E-filing has grown in popularity over recent years, making this energy especially apt for those filing at the last minute.  (See, I keep telling you the cosmos is really on your side.)

There’s another side to Mercury in Taurus though.  Communication.  In Taurus, that means communication with substance.  Face the facts of your current reality and dare to speak your truth, first to yourself, then to others.  This can feel kind of heavy, especially if it’s something new to you.  Say it anyway.  It’s time.

Taurus energy tends to make you want to do things solo.  Yet we are in a time now when we are learning the value of sharing in new, supportive, and collaborative ways.  So dare to reach out for support.  Find those who can offer what supports your dreams in solid and healthy way as you do the same for them.

Dreams?  Ah, yes.  Where are our dreams in all of this?  Becoming real, that’s where.  In Pisces the dreaming went on in intangible ways, opening us to new possibilities.  Then came Aries, the fire power to propel those dreams into true desire.  Now, as we add Taurus energy while still in the sign of Aries, it’s a time of testing.  Which dreams have the substance to stand the test of time?  Will your resources support them?  Which were you deluding yourself with, buying into illusions that held no place or truth in your reality?  Which needs to shift, your dream or your reality?

Get real.

This New Moon Saturday, April 18th, at 28° Aries is especially impactful because of its connection with the galactic center, the center of the Milky Way. (So say the experts on this, of which I am not.)  It also hits a critical degree which brings a sharp, intense energy. This is a great time to set strong intensions, by the way.

By the next day, the Moon is also in Taurus, bringing more emotional energy with it.  And the Sun follows on the 20th, bringing your full attention to matters involving this sign (earned income, personal values, self-worth, early learning/teaching).

The number 28 evokes trust issues—of yourself and others.  Self-doubt often accompanies this energy, at least at first. These issues require resolution before you can move into the power (Aries) of its reduced number of 1 (2+8=10, 1+0=1).  It is in the actualization of the number 1 that your originality and leadership ability will shine.  From here, dreams become reality.

Remember that Taurus is one of the money signs in a money house in astrology.  (And you thought if you just got those taxes filed, you’d be free.  Wink!)  We sometimes get lost in the optical illusions in life.   Realize that in one sense money serves as a surface indicator of much deeper issues.  What are your true assets?  What do you really value?   Where is your true security?  What are you ready and willing to teach/share with those now walking where you’ve already trod?  What’s the driving force behind wanting more money (or your fear of getting it)?

Get real.

The Taurus energy gains a boost this year from this being an 8 Universal Year and 8 being the strongest money and manifestation number in numerology.  At this quarter point in this calendar year, how well are you using that energy?  Are you learning more about how to manage your own finances?  Getting an education in world finance?  Gaining more clarity on how your talents and resources fit into the bigger picture?  Finding solid footing for the ideas and dreams you know are meant to become reality?

Look at it this way.  Aries challenges us to plant our seeds now for the future; Taurus says to plant quality seeds and plant them deep enough to withstand life’s strongest weather conditions.   Oh yes, and keep the weeds out in the weeks, months, and years ahead.   Remember, you’re the one with the power and the tools.

And that’s a reality you can live with.

No Gun Violence Symbol by David Castillo Dominici; freedigitalphotos.netI don’t like guns, never have.  Sorry if that offends some of you, but it’s the truth.  Yet anyone living in the past several centuries knows a gun remains only a threat—or a promise– until someone pulls the trigger.

The same is true in astrology.  This week Mars shows us what he can do when he aims his energy at some pretty big players.  You see, a cosmic anomaly is that personal planets like Mars are “designed” to trigger an event when teamed with the outer planets.

That happens big time this week, so let’s take a look.

After a weekend of the Sun and Chiron showing us where there may be a need for healing, Mars and Jupiter ramp things up Monday, March 9th.  An easy flowing energy between these two increases physical energy and urges.  Both are in Fire signs (Aries and Leo), increasing this drive even more.

This energy wants to be seen by others so easily builds drama (Leo) around things already in play.  With both planets at 13° the underlying impetus is for transformation.  Yet this is a number that brings transformation through struggle in order to make foundational change.  And the 9 date indicates endings as a likely part of that.  Since Jupiter is a transitional planet, it indicates both personal and collective impact.

Wednesday, the 11th, intensity in Aries grows as Mars goes shoulder to shoulder with Uranus at 15° and into an exact square with Pluto at 15° Capricorn.  This could be one dynamite day.  Capricorn rules governments and established order.  Aries want change and forward movement.  Pluto rules the dark side of life and things hidden.  Mars drives pure, raw, action.  And Uranus is a loose cannon, potentially creating shock and awe for the sake of liberation and freedom.

Now toss all of these into an energy that’s two parts fire, one part air, one part water and one part earth.  That could mean air fuels fire to boil water to purify earth. Or earth, air, and water combine to subdue or put out fire.  Which will it be?

Frankly, this is a warring energy, an energy that creates impatience and fuels anger.  It’s very high energy with the potential for violence that fuels fanaticism.  And I don’t see any way to sugar-coat that.  This energy strikes the collective with global dynamics.  Yet realize that on a personal level, it is a day where balance is needed along with an outlet for any intense energies you feel.

The number 15 beams love into this brew, however.  This number carries the potential to change the proverbial lead into gold.  Yet even here, the number 5 indicates pivotal change is needed to guide independent actions.

With energy of this magnitude, it does not build and release in a single day.   The build up to the 11th will likewise take several days to start to dissipate.  Just remember that the number 11 challenges us to step through a gateway into the unknown.  Draw on Mars’ vibration of courage to direct this energy for good in any way you can.

March 12th Mercury enters the sign of Pisces, which may allow calmer voices to prevail—or at least be heard.  The 12 brings the impetus for learning and original creative solutions through partnering.  In its lower expression it can bring dominance or victimhood.  Again, which will it be? Pisces draws us toward the divine and seeing that we are all one humanity with hopes and dreams more the same than different.

On the 14th, Saturn retrogrades until early August.  What does this mean for you?  Quite simply, it’s a time to go within and review all the things you’ve come to understand, or not, since the first of the year.  Things you chose to ignore or keep hidden will reappear.  Tax, loan, or debt issues left unresolved may surface.  Your long-held beliefs may fly in your face for close examination.

Most of all this time is a laser-like integrity check.  Do your thoughts match your words?  Do your words match your actions?  Are you consistently responsible and honest with yourself and others?  The number 14 invites change through structured individual action.  Decide, then act.

And all of this leads up to (drum roll, please) the FINAL exact Pluto-Uranus square on March 16-17, depending on where you are on the planet.  (Yahoo!!)

The number 16 can bring unexpected happenings that lead sooner or later to new insights.  (So Uranus-like, right?)  And 17 brings insights leading to original ideas that can stand on their own with enduring qualities.  It also reduces to 8 (1+7), the king of the money numbers, which could result in some financial shake-ups.  Remember, any 8 energy is magnified in this 8 Universal Year.

This energy will take weeks to start to weaken and years to completely disconnect, but this is the final clash for decades.

Yes, it’s an intense, high energy week ahead.  Be patient with yourself and others.  We’re all feeling this on some level.  Direct the energy in positive and productive ways as much as you can.  Stay balanced emotionally; if hit with a shock or surprise, return to calm as soon as possible.  Guard against paralyzing fear, panic, or hopelessness.  Love yourself and your neighbors far and wide, realizing we’re all in this together.

Embrace change leading toward forward movement rather than clinging to the past.  We’re simply taking one more powerful leap into this planetary adventure.

Blessings, all!

Shopping Woman Holding Shopping Bag by stockimages; freedigitalphotos.netWhen you think of love and romance in astrology, you think of Venus, right?  Well, in this 8 Universal Year it’s especially important to see another facet to this beauty’s personality.  Money.  Few planets hold as much sway in a chart as Venus when it comes to money.  Let’s take a look.

First, locate your natal chart–on the computer or buried in a drawer somewhere.  (You do have your natal chart by now, right?) Find Venus, the symbol that looks like a stick figure or a plus sign with a circle on the top. (No crown on top; that’s Mercury).  Which House is she in?  These are the sections of the chart, numbered near the middle.  If she is in the 2nd, 6th, 8th, or 10th, the traditional money houses, that’s strong for wealth.  Yet Venus in the 7th can indicate money through marriage or in the 8th through inheritance.

How Venus is connected to the other money houses or planets in those houses can indicate whether money will flow easily, come through work, or be met with obstacles.  A favorable aspect to Jupiter, for example, can indicate greater wealth since Jupiter expands all it touches.  (They don’t call it the “lucky planet” for nothing, you know.) Yet a hard aspect to Jupiter could indicate struggles with money or great financial losses.

Venus, in this sense, connected to the Moon can indicate that money will come in stages, ebb and flow, and may even flow along with the cycles of the Moon.

If she is in the 12th House, it can indicate that there is no need to earn money, or how and when retirement will occur.  This is an especially strong indicator if Venus resides here with other planets.

How Venus aspects (connects to) your Ascendant can indicate by sign and degree how your personality will enhance or play into your wealth.  And a strong aspect to your Midheaven (10th House cusp) strengthens the likelihood of financial gain through your career.

Venus in the 11th House, if connected to a money house or ruling planet, can indicate that female friends, groups, or a team will play a part or lend support in some way.  Again this will flow more easily if the aspect is say a trine or sextile (easy flowing energy) versus a square or opposition, bringing obstacles or opposite characteristics into play.

Venus in the 4th House or on the 4th House cusp may indicate the need for family support to initiate a career, a common trait in an athlete’s chart.

Aspects between Venus and Neptune appear prominently in charts of royalty or those born to “old money.”

Venus also can be a timing device, either by transit or progression.  For instance, Progressed Venus moving from its natal position in the 1st House into the 2nd House of earned income can trigger the beginning of a career if connected to the Midheaven or a marriage that brings financial wealth if connected to the 7th House of MarriageVenus transits only last a few days, so trigger specific events, like getting a new job.

Remember, Venus is the planet of balance, which can be especially important in financial decisions.  Yet guard against aspects of her lowest expression; indecisiveness or avoidance.  Also realize that Venus by herself cannot bring wealth.  She must be in aspect to other parts of your chart.  And Saturn in aspect to this lovely lady (so dubbed because of her feminine attributes) can require more effort or retard the arrival of money.

Pay attention also to the degree numbers of the planets and house cusps involved.  Look particularly for 8s or numbers that reduce to 8, such as 26 (2+6=8). Since 8 is the “king of the money numbers,” it intensifies all issues around money.  Plus, this 8 Universal Year strengthens any activation of this number throughout the year.

The same is true if you have 8 in your numerology Numbers Code.  For example, I experienced a triple 8 activation in January and have four house cusps that reduce to 8.  Was I delving into financial materials and reassessing everything in my own financial world as well as the world at large?  You betcha!  Like a bee on a petunia I spent the month digging deeper for the richest pollen.

Now back to you.  I’m offering as a gift all year to locate where you have 8s in your astrology chart or Numbers Code.  (Did I hear some “yippees” out there?  Wink!)  Realize this is not a reading, simply a location of key areas of your life affected—which in itself is priceless.  Just click here to go to my website.  Hit the Contact tab and jot me a note that says, “8s, please.” I’ll get back to you with the information I need.  How easy is that?

Until next time, find Venus (now transiting Pisces) in your charts, if you have them, and see if you can begin to draw your own storyline.

(P.S. Due to my own little surgical adventure in January combined with a bunch of planets transiting my 12th House, further turning me into a recluse, I’ve been MIA here for a while.  I apologize for any wonder or frustration that may have caused.)

Tft Monitor And Dollar Sign Stock Photo by Greenleaf Designs; freedigitalphotos.netGuess what happened when you weren’t looking?  We changed our calendars on New Year’s Day and shifted to a new cycle in life.   Welcome to an 8 Universal Year.  What does that mean to you personally?  Let’s take a look.

As always, the intensity with which you feel any numeric vibration depends on where and how strongly it appears in your personal astrology chart and Numbers CodeIf 8 appears anywhere in your Numbers Code, this is a big year for you.  If it appears as the degree number of your Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, 4th House cusp, Sun, or Moon it is as well.  For others with 8s on other House cusps or as planetary degrees, the impact is more sporadic, depending on what triggers your chart.  And there’s your mini astro-numerology lesson for the day.  (Wink!)  Now let’s get on to the good stuff.

The first visible place you see this number impact your life is around money issues.  This is the king of the money numbers and serves as a catalyst for getting your attention in an 8 Universal Year.  Throughout the year your involvement with money will show where you shine and where you don’t.  It will spotlight your greatest fears and your areas of greatest faith and trust.  It lays bare the truths of your life as few other things can.

This is a collective energy, affecting us all.  The energetic wave starts from outside yourself rather than through a personal action.  You are then at choice as to how you respond to it.  Now if you act from fear, choice goes out the window.  You simply react.  If you catch yourself doing that, realize you have the power to make a better choice at any moment.

Does this mean there will be a global event that closes all the banks?  Who knows?  Whatever the catalysts are, they send their waves too each of us.  What feels like a ripple to one can feel like a tsunami to another.  What appears as a hindrance to one spurs another forward.  Why?  Because like attracts like.  If you live in constant fear of not having enough, that draws more of those experiences to you and intensifies that very thing.  Really!  Fear of not having enough keeps you in a place of not having enough.  And in a year like this, that will show up in neon lights.

How do you change it?  By getting to the root of where that fear or belief comes from.  Sometimes those roots twist and wind through deep layers of the subconscious, so be prepared for some deep excavations.  Once these truths come up, you can choose to see them for what they are and realize they don’t have to control your life anymore.  The choice truly is up to you.  Self pity or playing the blame game only keeps you feeling stuck and powerless.  Take responsibility for your own life now.  Make little shifts that can lead to greater shifts later on.

In the astrology chart, the 8th House covers a lot of territory: sex, taboos, debt, inheritances, joint finances, taxes, mortgages, banks, death, and transformation.  See some familiar themes coming up?  In an 8 Universal Year all these themes intensify.

The wonderful thing about all this is that if you are one who already lives with a truly abundant mindset and way of being, that’s what will intensify for you.  This goes deeper than just wanting more and more.  Wanting just brings more wanting.

In fact, living abundantly has little to do with money at its deepest roots.  And this is the starting point if your bank account keeps falling into the Red Zone.  Where do you already experience abundance?  Be grateful!  What makes your heart sing?  Do it more often!   What gives you more energy rather than depleting you?  Spend more time on that!  What’s been on your bucket list that you really could do right now except for the “time” excuse?  Prioritize it!  Where can you be more generous–or stop being overly generous to the point of complete depletion?  Do it! Whatever truly expands the quality of your life is key to shifting from lack mentality to living from true abundance.  And the money?  It’ll show up in new and different ways once the energy aligns to receive it.  That’s one of the cosmic laws of nature—the nature of how it is.

These are the lessons an 8 Universal Year brings to each of us.  How you respond to the challenges and opportunities this year will help determine where you find yourself when you replace your 2015 calendar at the end of the year.

Still not sure how big a deal the number 8 is for you in 2015?  Well, you’re already in luck!  As my free gift to you this year I’ll check to see if 8 is highlighted in your Numbers Code or astrology chart.  Simply go to my website ( hit the Contact tab and jot me a note that says “8s please.”  How easy is that?  I’ll get back to you with the information I need then let you know what shows up.  Note: this isn’t a reading, more of a “heads up.”  (smile)  This offer remains open all this year, by the way.   Yet in this case, sooner definitely is better than later.

Ready to move into this new year with your eyes wide open?  That’s my greatest wish for you and each of us at this point.  And in so doing may you be truly blessed!

Did you notice that even the mainstream media got caught up in  the Stork With Baby, luifi diamanti; freedigitalphotos.netuniqueness of the date 12-13-14?  Here in the U.S. the focus went to  babies born at 10:11 on that date.  I heard three of them featured; one in Arizona, one in Montana, and one in Ohio.  So here’s the question: Will these babies have identical astro-numerology blueprints (life designs)?  Let’s take a look.

To keep this from turning into a book-length piece I’ll compare only two; the ones in Tucson, AZ, and Billings, MT.  Both were born in Mountain Standard Time, which adds another similarity.  And both are girls.

Their astrology charts show their planets, including the Sun and Moon, in the same signs at the same degree numbers.  And both share several aspects, including the same two Achievement Triangles denoting lifetime challenges.

The differences show up first in the Houses.  For example, one shows an Ascendant or Rising Sign (personality) in Aquarius with her Descendant (Self reflected through others) in Leo.  The other’s Ascendant is in Capricorn, with the Descendant in Cancer.  Plus the degree numbers vary.

Still with me?  Good!  Let’s start to color in this picture, shall we?

Tucson Girl with an Aquarius Rising Sign (1st House) is here to be different.  Yet at 4 degrees she will show more stability than many with a strong influence from this sign.  The number 4 carries a vibration of foundational structure and form.  It favors the material world and the Earth herself.  Yet Tucson Girl is here to bring change, partly driven by power planet Mars in Aquarius at 6 degrees.  Six is the relationship number of love and nurturing.  This indicates that she must first learn to love and nurture herself (1st House) before she can demonstrate these traits, through her personality, to others.

Looking across her chart we see her Descendant lies at 4 degrees Leo, a sign of self-empowerment and putting the Self first.  Leo often brings a desire for attention and can lean toward drama–in many forms.  Jupiter lies in Leo at 22 degrees which will add expansiveness to all relationship issues in her life.  Yet since Jupiter was retrograde at her birth, this comes as inner expansion much more than anything external; her sense of self will be continually expanded through relationship.  Plus 22 is the Master Number of Peace and reduces to 4 (2 + 2 = 4).  That doubles the strength of that number’s vibration for her.  This energy will both support and challenge her as she goes through life.

Based on these chart factors alone, I easily can see Tucson Girl involved in  peaceful sit-ins as a public rebellion (a slight dichotomy there) targeting atrocities against planet Earth or the destruction of a city park for the sake of commerce.  Yet this may come later in life, after she first gains a firm understanding of herself.

Billings Girl, on the other hand, has her Ascendant at 26 degrees Capricorn and Descendant at 26 degrees Cancer.  Her personality likely will develop through her work/career.  With 26 we see another relationship number, this one perhaps with karmic ties.  Here the 6 (love, nurturing) supports one-on-one relationships (2).  And 26 reduces to 8 (2 + 6 = 8), showing the potential for great gain–and challenge–around money and/or bringing ideas into their highest form.

Her Cancer Descendant indicates a strong emphasis on family relationships.  The Descendant marks the beginning of the House of Marriage and Partnerships, and Cancer’s natural home is in the House of Family and Roots.  Again, the potential exists for this to be another chance to bring better outcomes through those she’s connected with earlier in life or in other lifetimes.  These may appear as either family members or close work associates (Capricorn).  And with Leo also a strong influence in her House of Marriage and Partnerships, this may build toward her becoming a more independent spirit or breaking the bonds of co-dependency later in life.  Jupiter retrograde at 22 degrees Leo again focuses the energy of self-empowerment on inner growth for the sake of peace.

Based on these chart factors alone, I could see Billings Girl with a big, fat piggy bank (Do children even have those anymore?) in childhood, planning how she’ll own a magnificent home one day that she designed herself.  As an adult that may shift to a career in real estate.  The number 26/8 may present more that a few “growth opportunities” around relationships and finance.  Capricorn energy often brings an innate awareness of knowing what is worth fighting or striving for in life.  And this could prove one of her strongest underlying strengths.

Of course no one’s life can be drawn from one or two aspects, whether astrological or numeric.  We all are composites of many, many factors.  Yet this peek into the windows of these two girls’ blueprints highlights marked differences among multiple similarities–genetic and environmental factors or her Numbers Code notwithstanding.

So are those born at the same time (and even time zone) on the same date in the same country the same?  No–and yes.  These girls will experience the same generational challenges in nearly the same way, though they may demonstrate them differently.  They will share the characteristics of Sagittarius as their Sun Sign with communication (Mercury conjunct the Sun) strongly evidenced, especially with friends and group associations (11th House).  Travel will likely be a part of this picture as well.  Yet their careers and/or reputations could hold an air of secrecy or bring hidden truths to light (Scorpio in 10th House).  The picture continues to grow and strengthen with each aspect and number relationship we examine.

And so it goes for each of us.

Have you considered what a gift it would be for both parent and child to know the promises and challenges inherent in a child’s design?  Imagine how many points of argument and confusion could be avoided through this kind of awareness.  That’s priceless, wouldn’t you say?  If I can be of service in discovering this for someone you love, simply click the link below.

Planet in Space by Phiseksit; freedigitalphotos.netFeeling a bit confused, at loose ends, uncertain about your next step? You have a lot of company.  This is indicative of the time between eclipses.  And that, my friend is where we are right now.

The lunar eclipse October 8th was surrounded and compounded by multiple astrological aspects.  Powerful stuff!  Some people felt it physically, others emotionally, and some were moved to close old doors (or at least took steps to do so) not knowing where or when the next door would appear.

Now you find yourself at a midpoint of this period. This can be a time of real or imagined uncertainty.  It’s a time to step back and reassess, not just mentally but on all levels.  What just happened?  How has your reality changed?  What has your attention now?  Who and what holds the most value in your current world?

If you don’t have specific answers to these, it’s okay. Guard against getting into a mental loop of “whys” and “what ifs.” Yet spending time with these kinds of questions that can lead you out of the fog.  More clarity likely will come between now and the time of the partial solar eclipse October 23rd.   Remember, right timing is a major component of success for most of us.  So be patient and stay with what is.

With Mercury retrograde until October 25th and Venus’ power diminished or altered as she hugs the Sun, this is not a great time to set things in concrete.  Look at it as a time for formulation and planning, realizing that some tweaking may be needed later on.  (I’m not a big fan of redos myself—too much “do-do” to wade through in the process, if you get my meaning.  And I’m not that good with a chisel either.)

The way I see it, three areas of life are highlighted this month: relationships, money issues, and repeating patterns.  Relationships, a theme all this year, are up for review again with Mercury backtracking into Libra as of October 10th.  How is your communication with those you are closest to?  Testy or open?  Cloaked or honest?  Passive aggressive or assertive?   With Venus in this position some of our buffers are off, so guard against harshness masquerading as assertiveness.

Have you had a few money surprises since we moved into Libra September 23rd?  Remember, we are now in an 8 Universal Month and 8 is the most powerful and eventful of the money numbers, and Venus/Libra rule money astrologically.  Therefore money can become a great teacher at times like this.  The key is to take your eyes off the dollar signs and look at what this really triggers in you.  Is it fear of lack, a need for control, or maybe a desire for freedom?   Getting to the root of whatever that issue is marks the beginning of a turnaround.

The number 8 also stands for infinity and the highest level of manifestation.  The problem is, if you unwittingly live in repeating patterns that keep showing up in slightly different guises, they are what manifest into infinity.  Once you see the pattern, however, it is then in your capability to change it.  The subconscious becomes conscious.  This can appear in any area of your life, but with Libra and Scorpio highlighted this month, watch for it to play out right now in whatever house(s) these signs appear in your astrology chart.  Collectively this affects the 7th and 8th Houses, dealing with marriage/close partnerships and our deepest fears and soul issues.  We’ll all experience this energy to some degree, no matter where your personal chart might highlight it for you.

Yes, the solar eclipse on the 23rd promises to be memorable with effects that will last at least 6 months.  Eclipses do that anyway, and this one combines with a New Moon and a Venus-Sun conjunction. (Of course the Moon always joins the Sun at the time of a New Moon.)  It’s a time of aspect upon aspect upon aspect, each adding a different dynamic to the equation.  New Moons invite (and sometimes push) new beginnings that can feel quite emotional.   Venus blends her energy completely with the Sun as the two move into Scorpio. Shifting from Libra to Scorpio automatically changes the energy we all feel from outer to inner, from the seen to the unseen.  At the same time, the Sun and Venus will propel us to shine a light on things previously hidden or buried.

And so our evolutionary process marches on. Planetary and numeric energies spur us all in different way to get on with it.  No more excuses, no more hiding, no more denying your own personal truth.  Let the unconscious become conscious.  See it in all honesty and feel into what that means for you moving forward from here.  Balance (Libra) remains key as we maneuver this lapse between the eclipses.  And don’t forget that the greatest power of all is love.

Ah, Venus. The planet of love, beauty, balance, justice, and money.  She’s one of the first Sun Stars by xedos4; freedigitalphotos.netplanets we look for in our astrology charts to find where her energy will support our daily lives.  After all, with a “character” like that, what’s not to love?  And now, since we entered her home sign of Libra on September 22nd, we’d expect her influence to be even stronger, right?

Rule number one in astrology: Don’t assume anything.

You see, while I practice Western astrology, I also keep an eye on Vedic astrology. Sometimes I find it reveals another layer I would otherwise miss.  Like now.

According to Vedic astrologer Carol Allen, Venus went “combust” September 17th and will remain so until December 4th.  (Carol’s great, by the way.  Check her out!)  This means Venus is circling close enough to the Sun that Venus’ rays are invisible at night.  This results in a weakening of her energy as it is blocked by the Sun’s body or rays.  Ironically this happens when Venus is at its closest position to Earth.

Now before you panic let me clarify something. Venus is still emitting her energy as she always does.  What’s changed is her position and energy emission to us.   And like I said, I’m not a Vedic astrologer (or astronomer, for that matter), but this fits so perfectly with the energy I’ve felt and see growing as we prepare to enter October.  (Being a Libran, I qualify as a true tester of Venusian energy, don’t ya know.)

In Vedic astrology, a “combust” planet is said to be angered by this weakening. Now, it’s pretty hard for me to see Venus as angry in any condition.  Yet I will say there is truth in the observation that there’s no one as miserable as an out of balance Libran!  But what I sense from this current astrological phenomenon is an overpowering of Sun energy in regard to Venus.  The Sun (ruler of Leo) shines rays of empowerment spurring action.  Venus likes things much more gentle, even lazy at times, especially if out of balance.  The Sun heats things up; Venus cools them down—unless we’re talking romance. (Wink!)

Why is this important?   A quick look at October shows an eclipse month with a lunar eclipse on the 8th and solar eclipse on the 23rd.  Plus Mercury goes retrograde the 4th through the 23rd.  And, for those who might have missed it, Pluto went direct September 22nd and will gain in strength and worldwide impact as we enter this next month.

What’s more, October is a 17/8 Universal Month. Since this is the number of lasting effects often leaving a legacy behind, look for something memorable to occur.  The number 8 also is the king of the money numbers so can bring monetary gains or losses.  Plus this number brings up repeating patterns so they can be seen and broken, both personally and on a planetary scale.  And it is a karmic number that can bring people back into your life with whom something is not finished.  (This can be good, so again, don’t panic.)

Remember, Venus likes balance and security, internally and externally, and that energy still resides during this time of Libra. Only it may not feel quite as strong and supportive as you’d expect.  So use those overpowering rays of the Sun to empower yourself to take that next step that may feel anything but Venusian.  Take a risk.  It may feel foreign or scary, but if it’s something that will change what’s been holding you back, now could be your time.  You may feel unusually energized right now and prone to extremes, depending on the aspects in your own chart, so use it wisely.  Venus is still there to calm the winds and restore balance if you overshoot.  Think of her as the faithful lover, there for you through thick and thin, no matter how she feels personally, just somewhat weakened.

I sense that balance may be what is tested most during this time. We think of Venus as giving balance.  In truth, it teaches us the need for balance. Just as a toddler only gains greater strength and stability in walking when the parent releases his/her hands, Venus weakening may do likewise.  She’s still there, yet allowing us to test our own strength.

Can you balance the extremes and walk the path of your true journey? Can you love when those around you are not lovely?  Can you see beauty in every soul, every daily occurrence no matter what appears on the surface?  Can you be just in the face of injustice?  Use your personal money issues of gain or loss as a barometer and messenger. These are the lessons of Venus.  As always, her position and aspects in your chart will tell where this will appear strongest for you personally during this time.

Till next time, blessings!

Carolina Kostner, 2014 Olympic Bronze Medalist

Carolina Kostner, 2014 Olympic Bronze Medalist

When Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner took to the ice in Sochi last week in the 2014 Winter Olympics, she faced one nemesis she likely had never met by name: the 4-8 factorThis “competitor” was not listed by name on the roster, nor did it receive any grand announcements from the microphone.  Yet it was Carolina’s silent companion the whole time.  Curious?  Well read on, my friend, read on.

This anomaly appears when 4s and 8s appear in any combination between the Life Purpose (Birth Path), Day of Birth, and Current Name.  It is a karmic indicator that says this person agreed to resolve issues—a lot of issues—from previous lifetimes along with those that formed in the early years of this lifetime.  These often involve the reappearance of people with whom those issues were left unresolved.  Those with 8s and 4s in their numbers energetically, and often unwittingly, draw others with these numbers into their lives.   They also will find 4s and 8s appear with significance in dates, addresses, phone numbers, etc.   It’s a magnetic attraction in the truest sense of the word, sometimes pleasant (at least at first), sometimes not.  Yet the underlying reason for the attraction must be satisfied.

This resolve is strongest for those born on the 8th of any month and can lend to a more fatalistic approach to life.  This is especially so for Aquarians and Capricorns.  Carolina is an Aquarian, born February 8, 1987.

Birth numbers tell the story.  Her Life Purpose number reduces to 35/8.  Her Day of Birth is 8.  And her Destiny Number is 67/13/4. Whenever 4s and 8s appear together in the key numbers of a person’s birth code, that energy will permeate his/her entire lifetime.

Numerology purists might argue that this is not a true 4-8 factor since the Destiny is not considered part of the equation.  A closer look at other factors makes me think otherwise.  You see, Carolina’s Current Name and Destiny are derived from the same name: CAROLINA KOSTNER.  She has no middle name, from what I could ascertain.   In the ancient Chaldean system I use for Current name vibrations, this equates to a 23/5, a fortunate number indeed and has assisted her along the way.  Yet since it also carries the 67/13/4, that number must not be ignored.  Another red flag appears; there are no 4s or 8s in her name numbers.  This means she must work intensely with the meaning of these numbers (both in the Manifestation Triad) this lifetime.  That’s the deal, the agreement before birth.

So how has this shown up in her life?  Let’s look at her 12-years of skating competitions for clues.  (Thanks to Wikipedia.  They do such a great job on things like this, don’t they?)  This athlete started skating at the age of (drum roll, please…) 4.   Her first competitions were the 2004 European Championships and 2004 World Championships.  You see what I see, right?  She won her first European medal in 2006 (2+0+0+6=8) and was the flag bearer for her first Olympics that year where she placed 12th. (Remember, 12 is the victim number if not in its highest expression.)

Her life continued this pattern of victory and loss as injury beset her that same year, keeping her out of the Grand Prix season.  She recovered and continued in competition the next year, making a strong showing in the short program of the 2007 Worlds but faltering in the long program to end in 6th place.  (Six is the stabilizing number for 8, by the way.)  In 2008 she made several strong performances throughout the year leading her to a silver medal at the 2008 Worlds Championships.  Yet as the year progressed into the 2008-2009 season, her amateur skating career hit the skids again.  She made a poor showing at her first Grand Prix, lost her European title, dropped to a 12th place finish at the World Championships, and caused Italy only to claim one ladies spot in the upcoming 2010 Olympics.

After 8 years training with her coach, Michael Huth, she changed coaches, leaving Italy to train in California.  About a year later homesickness drove her back home to Italy and her former coach.  (Unfinished business?)

In December 2009, she nearly lost her chance at the Vancouver Games, then swung back to win a gold medal at the 2010 European Championships.  Yet her jumps just weren’t solid anymore and her downward spiral continued.  She slipped to 16th place in 2010 Winter Olympics. (Sixteen can bring accidents or unexpected happenings to bring deeper insights.)

Was it time to give up skating, she wondered.  Her faith in herself and her skating ability hit an all-time low.  Following her mother’s advice, she got back to her true love of skating and altered her program with an emphasis on artistry rather than jumps.

The 2014 Winter Olympics drew Carolina to her third Olympic competition.  As the world watched, she skated perfection to “Ava Maria” for her short program, positioning her temporarily in 2nd place.  She was later edged out by Russian skater Adelina Sotnikova and dropped to 3rd.  Yet this position held for her through the long program the next day.  She claimed the bronze medal in Ladies Free Skate, her first Olympic win and a first win ever for Italy in this competition.

Oh, here’s a little aside.  The numbers of her perfectly executed short program score (142.61) totaled 14/5, the media number reinforced by the 2014 calendar year and the positive vibration of her Current Name (23/5).  And Carolina is now in a 17/8 Personal Year, the number of leaving a legacy behind.  How cool is that?

As one commentator noted, hers is a story of perseverance.  Indeed it is—and a remarkable example of how the 4-8 factor plays out in real life.

Number 7 with Leaves, domdeen;

Numbers 7 and 8 are great numbers—until you put them together…which they are right now for all of us.  How so?  On January 1, 2014, we entered a 7 Universal Year and an 8 Universal Month.  These are two fantastic energies on their own, but together they are like seating Donald Trump next to Mother Theresa at a fundraising dinner.  Donald sees this as a token of personal generosity that will likely bring him praise and positive publicity.  Mother Theresa prays her presence will open the hearts and wallets of those attending for the good of humanity and the nurturing of their own souls.

Sharing a dinner is one thing, and though Mr. Trump held great respect for her, I somehow doubt that he would have offered Mother Theresa a position as CFO of his financial empire.  Nor would he have cared to “walk a mile in her shoes,” as the saying goes.  Nor she in his, I might add.  They were just too, well, incompatible.

And that’s just what 7 and 8 are in numerology.  Incompatible.  So what’s humanity to do?  Let’s take a look.

The number 7 will be with us energetically all year.  So let’s get better acquainted with it.  This number serves as a bridge between the more mundane cares and concerns of this world and the quest for the deeper understanding experienced in faith and wisdom.  It pulls us toward deeper spirituality and higher learning.  This is the number of sudden realizations, high intelligence, and mystery.  It holds a mystical quality that appears as spiritual completion.  And while this is indeed a number of solitude, it also bridges worlds, inner to outer, higher to lower.Brick Wall Numeric with Shadow on White Background, satit_srihin; freedigitalphoto

The number 8 symbolized the law and is linked with “cause and effect.”  It represents drive, ambition, and power.  It also is directed, structured, and authoritative.  Power, authority, and recognition define this energy.  Yet it, too, has a “godly” side, for it is the number of infinity, a number without end.  And while it is considered the greatest financial number, it also seeks balance.  The energy of “as above, so below” or connecting head and heart follows this vibrational impulse.Capricorn, Salvatore Vuono,

It is through these higher expressions of each number that we find that thread of oneness that allows them to join hands this month and offer what neither could do alone.  For while the 7 sees and senses the higher realms and more in-depth answers, it is the power of the 8 that can manifest those into material form.  Add to that Capricorn’s energy and the mysterious, the unfathomable, becomes practical and doable.  This sign holds responsibility and effort (aka, hard work) as its banner.  While 7 alone may get lost in analysis or the ethers and never truly land an idea, the 8 and Capricorn know how to formulate, construct, and complete.

Also know that any 7s or 8s in your own blueprint are activated this month This could show up as financial issues (not necessarily the unwanted variety), an impulse to take on a new course of study, or perhaps a pull toward the divine.  Expect to see things in a new way.  Allow ideas to find a way into creation while flowing divine strength into all you do.  Dare to reach inward and outward, upward and downward.  Take your place and  step into the power of who you came here to be.

And may the Force be with you! (smile)
