Eclipse by zirconicusso; freedigitalphotos.netEclipses grab our attention. But why? People talk about them for a short time, some watch them, then they pass, right? No big deal. Or are they? Let’s take a look.

In astrology and numerology, we look at both the tangible and the intangible. Eclipses of the Sun or Moon are visible to the human eye (tangible) and vary energy flow (often intangible). The impacts generally are felt the strongest in the regions where the eclipse can be seen and can show suddenly or ripple over time. Impacts can be felt for up to 3 ½ years, depending on the length of the eclipse itself.

The partial Solar Eclipse on September 12th or 13th (based on global location) highlighted Antarctica and parts of southern Africa. Yet no major news stories arose from that region following the eclipse. Why not? This eclipse came with an attached delay factor: a Mercury retrograde, already in shadow with its strongest point of impact (a.k.a. delays, confusion, missed messages, misunderstandings) only days later. The story of whatever may be shifting in this region may take awhile to hit the world. The region still bears watching, however.

But hold on. Just because most of us were not in the area of highest impact for this eclipse, its impact would still be felt. Depending on how it triggered your personal chart and numbers code, you may have experienced a personal “eclipse” or witnessed one in someone else. For example, our wedding anniversary that day was totally “eclipsed” by my husband’s involvement in a community project. One of those overdue, now-or-never things. (Yes, my chart is lit up like a downtown city street at midnight this month.)

How would I respond to that? A-ha…now it gets personal.

Which brings me to another point. This eclipse happened at 20° in the sign of Virgo, an Earth Sign that deals with our service to the world. The eclipse also aspected the Moon’s North Node, which deals with our present impacting our future. Twenty is the highest number of relationship, urging us to view our relationships in the highest way possible while realizing they are divinely supported.

Virgo’s energy brings practicality and groundedness, yet in its lower expression can easily slip into criticism. (Oh, but it’s so justified, right? Wink!) In our case, this focus on Earth energy became literal. The project involved planting the framework for a new swing set in a community park we’ve been developing over recent years.  So I was at choice; become critical and demand that our day take precedence or view the bigger picture and appreciate that this long-awaited part of the project was taking form for the betterment of the community at large.  I must say, being able to see and understand the energy behind it reeeaaallly helped me take the high road in this.

Virgo also brings a strong emphasis on health, so some experienced or witnessed an “eclipse” in some health issue. I heard of two surgeries occurring near this eclipse; each patient struggled with coming out from under the anesthesia. That’s one reason surgery is not recommended around these times by astrological consultants. Particularly in a solar eclipse, the life force (Sun) is “eclipsed,” meaning it is temporarily blocked. This diminishes physical strength for a time.

For others this was a time of revelation that spurred them to deeper consideration of something. One person I know got the full low-down of what a kidney transplant would involve, intensifying the decision she would have to make. Again, a health issue.

For the collective, it focused the spotlight globally on the Syrian refugees and their struggle for physical survival, stirring our sense of compassion and need for change. This being a 9 calendar month heightened the emotional response even more. As the highest number in the emotional triad (3-6-9), its truest expression is deep compassion.

Both of these examples show the impact of this eclipse being attached to Chiron through opposition. Oppositions bring us to points of choice. Chiron deals with childhood or past issues not yet resolved. The kidney transplant question for this person stemmed from diabetes that developed in childhood. The Syrian refugee crisis marked the festering of unbearable refugee camp situations largely ignored for years by the world and focused attention on suffering children. Both issues had been long in the making, yet the eclipse thrust them to the next level demanding attention and choice.

While partial solar eclipses are generally less powerful than total eclipses, this one was sandwiched between two Super Moons, Full Moons on steroids. That matters.   And like any good sandwich, all the good stuff will squeeze and drizzle out as we slowly devour and digest the story behind the stories in all of this.

Take the recent U.S. Federal Reserve decision not to raise interest rates. This occurred on September 17th. The 17 indicates this decision will have long-lasting impact and since it reduces to 8 (1+7+8), it triggered the strongest business and money number in numerology. Need I remind you that we are in an 8 Universal Year? Oh, I see jelly dripping from this one already and things could get a bit sticky to say the least.

As we move toward the total Lunar Eclipse on September 27/28, we may face more surprises and events, expected and unexpected, that shake our internal and external worlds.  (A Venus-Uranus aspect also is in play.) This eclipse is visible, at least to some degree, over the Americas, Europe, Africa and part of Asia. The highest areas of impact are the eastern U.S., Central America, all of South America, western Europe, and western Africa. Yup, this is a biggie in many ways.

While Solar Eclipses traditionally initiate new beginnings, Lunar Eclipses tend to bring endings and culminations.

This Lunar Eclipse takes place at 4°40ʼ in Aries (power, initiation, independence) and aspects the South Node (fear) of the Moon (emotionality), a mathematical point that deals with our past patterns and ways of being.  The Moon likewise has to do with the past, often triggering emotions around that. Plus this eclipse is just 4 days away from the Fall Equinox, and degrees away from the Nodal Axis. That’s a lot of 4 energy! If we use that energy wisely, it too will help to keep us grounded though the shifts that occur. The number 4 represents stability, structure, form, and labor. It’s the worker’s number. Yet in its lower expression it brings stubbornness, bullying, materialism, and reluctance to release things from the past.

This, by the way, is heralded to be the most powerful Super Moon of the year. Its close proximity to Earth increases the gravitational and electromagnetic pull on the Earth—and on us. You may see physical manifestation of this like insomnia or either rock bottom or super-charged energy around this time.   The latter is far more likely.

Before you determine to charge into some new project with this energy, see it for what it is: an energy for endings. And, I will add, much pondering. Multiple astrological aspects this month creates push-pull energy. We want to act but don’t really know what to do. We see the challenges but not the solutions. We get the ideas but can’t see how to land them in practical ways. So frustrating, right? I get it. Just realize that fighting the current energy only heightens the frustration.

So what can you do?   Here’s the best way to use all this mixed energy: RELEASE, PONDER, RESEARCH, finalize a PLAN. We are now in a time of development, of final preparation. Take your time, something not easy to do in this energy. Resist the urge to jump into the gooiest parts of life before you’re ready or the “stars align.”

Here’s another thing. The Lunar Eclipse also aspects the Galactic Center at 2° Libra, bringing an evolutionary feel to what’s transpiring. Evolution takes time, so lay your plans and intentions well for the greatest impact when the time is right.

See the number 2 appear again? Yes, relationships are front and center on all levels now, not only with this relationship number but the pure energy of Libra, a sign we enter in full force September 23/24.

It’s time to start talking—and listening—to each other in new ways. Reconnect where you may have inadvertently detached. You’re in a new place now, and so is everyone else. Hold hands with those who are willing and prepare to move through these next steps together as you live the power of building unity through, or in spite of, diversity. This builds the foundations (4) for strong relationships (2) that benefit us all. Thrive, don’t just survive, in this Eclipse Season. We’ll thank you for it.

Whew!  We survived last week.  Yeah!  Whether you simply survived or feel Ethernet Connected Globe by David Castillo Dominici; freedigitalphotos.netthat you thrived on those energy anomalies, things are different now.  Can you feel it?

If you’re still reeling, mentally or physically, from a cosmic hangover perhaps not yet.  Those who experienced it as a power surge know things are different, right?  Either way, I assure you the results of last week are not over, not by a long shot.

The final Uranus-Pluto square spotlighted all things currently in the process of collapse or transformation.  Times like this bring out the best and the worst in people.  All the major issues around governments; financial stability; gun rights; corruption; world religions; race, gender, and sexual orientation equality; and what we truly value remain works in progress for the rest of this decade.  (Yes, there are more, but you get the idea.)

Yet just as this final square started the work week last week, an equally powerful combination of a super rare New Moon combining energy with a Solar Eclipse March 20th created an unbelievable power surge.   Just from my vantage point, I witnessed projects powered to completion, dreams made real, health issues either sharply improve or decline, and workplace issues climax to a pivotal point.  Heck, I even had a grand-nephew decide to make his earthly entrance that day. (There’s a topic for another day; those born close to eclipses.)

This particular eclipse, harmoniously aligned with Saturn, highlighted expansion and exercising faith.  If you experienced some of that, you now know the energy behind it.  Add to that the Equinox and changing of the seasons and you see a perfect set-up for new beginnings.

And so we enter this week with a different kind of energy in play.  Venus and Mercury take the spotlight for the rest of the month in aspects with the big boys.  Remember personal planets like these trigger the outer planets when they come into contact.

As Mercury eased into an easy sextile to Pluto on March 22nd, Venus does the same with Neptune two days later.  The first encourages deep harmonious, explorative conversations around work, government, or father issues.  The second may focus on financial dreams and how your ideals can become a stable reality.  These energies blend the elements of air and earth, thought and form.

Chiron also conjuncts Mercury at 18° Pisces on the 24th, which may bring up the need to think or talk about something hurtful from the past.  Guard against allowing this energy to spiral you downward as you recall “the way it was.”   Rather keep it in the context of your current reality going forward.  Can you finally close that chapter for good or up level it to a plot-building page from which you create a better story?  Let your ideals take form.  Since 18 reduces to 9 (1+8) this could be an emotional time.  Be compassionate with yourself and others.

On the 25th The Sun tightens its position in a Grand Fire Trine linked with Saturn and asteroid Juno.  This easily flows energy between the signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.  It peaks on this day intensifying relationship support.  This aspect began the 17th and ends April 2nd.  The energy adds enthusiasm and excitement to whatever relationships figure prominently in your world.  With Saturn and the Sun at and Juno at , this lends stability (4) to this fire and encourages communication (3).

Relationships remain at the forefront with Jupiter squaring Venus at 12° on the 27th.  This however can intensify a longing for relationship and feelings of victimization (12).  If you currently find yourself on a desert island, so to speak, with no relationship options in sight, shift this energy into some form of creativity or ways to make money.  It works for both.

Sunday, the 29th, Mercury again aspects Pluto.  This urges you into inspirational and creative expression, highlighting your talents.  It also carries the energy that brings awareness of conflicts or problems and the desire to resolve them.  Since the numbers 15/6 and 27/9 are in play, guard against over emotionality.

Creativity remains the theme on the 30th when Venus trines Pluto in the most active part of the signs.  As if that wasn’t enough the Sun conjuncts the South Node and Mercury enters Aries.  This combination encourages creativity spurred by intuition that demands action.  Unless, that is, you allow this energy to play to its lower expression, laziness and/or getting lost in the past.

You get a real boost for high productivity on the 31st when Mars enters Taurus.  This is a grounding, supportive energy that can calm you down and allow your best to materialize.  It’s also a good energy for money.  Of course it also could power up unresolved money fears and issues as it transits this sign.  If so, use that energy to take steps over the next few weeks to resolve them once and for all.

So we live the last weeks of March with familiar themes—communication, relationships, creativity—in a highly supportive energy.  Now doesn’t that sound good?  It almost feels like a little cosmic reward for all the intensity of recent weeks and months.

So here’s your lollipop, kids.  Enjoy!

Peaceful Winter SceneIsn’t it time for a little good news?  Well, I found some.  Really!  Let’s take a look.

Overall, the cosmic energies for February have been mild compared to recent years.   Weather and wars notwithstanding.  It’s like the universe gives us a break now and then to rest, assimilate, and prepare to power up for the next thrust forward. (Not to be confused with waiting for the next shoe to drop, mind you.) And that’s a good thing.

Venus and Mars continued to play as a couple through the signs over the past several weeks.  And right now they are closing in for one last energy swirl in the latter degrees of Pisces.  On Thursday, March 19th, Mars skips into his home sign of Aries with Venus gliding in the next day.  By Sunday they’re stumbling all over each other again for a day or so.  Cosmically speaking, of course.  Then Venus takes the lead again, since she moves about twice as fast as Mars.

While in Pisces, Mars’ planetary energies were somewhat subdued.  Not so in Aries.  He charges into the first degrees yelling, “I’m home! What’s for dinner?  Haven’t had a home-cooked power meal in two years.  Been living with relationship, financial, business, and spiritual issues for what seems like f.o.r.e.v.e.r.  That’s downright draining, you know.  Time to refuel and power up again.  Gosh, it’s good to be home!

Okay, I’m joking.  Yet the truth is Mars rules Aries in astrology and is in his greatest power here.  That automatically powers up a lot of high energy that will stay on high beam through March 31st.  Aires is an initiating power sign; Mars adds the energy for leadership, assertiveness, sex, and the warrior.  Whenever Mars and Venus blend energies, it heightens creativity as well as energizing relationship and financial developments.

Saturn, the planet of karma and responsibility, sextiles communication planet Mercury on the 19th as well with both at 4°. This could spur some productive or even brilliant thoughts or conversations.  At this degree number see these as laying the foundation for what’s next.

About this time, Venus and Mars start to edge into a trine with Saturn that becomes exact with Venus on the 24th.  This could add stability to this Venus-Mars energy over the next week.  However, realize that Saturn’s energy tends to want us to stay connected with the past.  If this happens, let Mars spur you forward with confidence.  Venus offers a stabilizing effect on her own, without the ball and chain.  (Wink!)

Saturn squares the Sun on the 23rd with both at 5°, the number of pivotal change.  The date likewise reduces to 5 (2 + 3), adding emphasis to this fact.  While this day could present some hurdles, use Saturn’s highest expression to overcome them.  Act mature, be responsible and disciplined, and manage your time well.  By so doing, you will shine brilliantly.

The energy of change continues when the Saturn-Venus trine becomes exact on the 24th at 5°.  This adds energy to new beginnings and bold action, especially if it was preceded by planning.  And when Saturn trines Mars the next day, a steadying effect pervades it all.

Also on the 25th, the Sun conjuncts (joins) Neptune bringing creative inspiration and spiritual union.  Guard against aimlessness, excessive escapism, or substance abuse—expressions of Neptune’s lower energy which could likewise be fired by the Sun.

On the 28th, Jupiter and Pluto, both at 14°, move into an aspect that demands an adjustment.  This energy can plunge you into the depths of truth and/or supercharge creativity.  Plus Uranus moves to 14°Aries, creating a trine with Jupiter in Leo as Uranus starts to tighten into that last Pluto-Uranus square on March 17th.  This energy easily spills onto the global scene since it involves powerful outer planets and transitional Jupiter’s expanding influence.  The number 14 again reduces to 5, so expect to see some interesting dynamics splashed across the media around then.

Realize, also, that all of this activity is prefaced by a powerful New Moon February 18th at 29°59ʼ Aquarius, a mere cosmic minute before the Sun enters Pisces.  This brings the combined energies of Uranus’ home sign (Aquarius) blended with Neptune in its home sign (Pisces) into play in a very strong way.  This energy activation remains in effect for weeks.   Aquarius is quirky energy that tends to insight revolution.  In Pisces, things often get lost in illusions and delusions before finding higher grounding.  So realize that not everything in the weeks ahead may be as it appears on the surface.  Guard against joining a revolution—personal, familial, or global–on false pretenses.   The number 18 can bring deceit.  Yet it reduces to 9, the number of highest compassion.  Let that be your cloak of honor in the days and weeks ahead.

As always, the degree to which you feel these energies depends on how they interact with your personal chart and numbers.  If you need help to determine that, you know where to find me.

Blessings, all!

Did you notice that even the mainstream media got caught up in  the Stork With Baby, luifi diamanti; freedigitalphotos.netuniqueness of the date 12-13-14?  Here in the U.S. the focus went to  babies born at 10:11 on that date.  I heard three of them featured; one in Arizona, one in Montana, and one in Ohio.  So here’s the question: Will these babies have identical astro-numerology blueprints (life designs)?  Let’s take a look.

To keep this from turning into a book-length piece I’ll compare only two; the ones in Tucson, AZ, and Billings, MT.  Both were born in Mountain Standard Time, which adds another similarity.  And both are girls.

Their astrology charts show their planets, including the Sun and Moon, in the same signs at the same degree numbers.  And both share several aspects, including the same two Achievement Triangles denoting lifetime challenges.

The differences show up first in the Houses.  For example, one shows an Ascendant or Rising Sign (personality) in Aquarius with her Descendant (Self reflected through others) in Leo.  The other’s Ascendant is in Capricorn, with the Descendant in Cancer.  Plus the degree numbers vary.

Still with me?  Good!  Let’s start to color in this picture, shall we?

Tucson Girl with an Aquarius Rising Sign (1st House) is here to be different.  Yet at 4 degrees she will show more stability than many with a strong influence from this sign.  The number 4 carries a vibration of foundational structure and form.  It favors the material world and the Earth herself.  Yet Tucson Girl is here to bring change, partly driven by power planet Mars in Aquarius at 6 degrees.  Six is the relationship number of love and nurturing.  This indicates that she must first learn to love and nurture herself (1st House) before she can demonstrate these traits, through her personality, to others.

Looking across her chart we see her Descendant lies at 4 degrees Leo, a sign of self-empowerment and putting the Self first.  Leo often brings a desire for attention and can lean toward drama–in many forms.  Jupiter lies in Leo at 22 degrees which will add expansiveness to all relationship issues in her life.  Yet since Jupiter was retrograde at her birth, this comes as inner expansion much more than anything external; her sense of self will be continually expanded through relationship.  Plus 22 is the Master Number of Peace and reduces to 4 (2 + 2 = 4).  That doubles the strength of that number’s vibration for her.  This energy will both support and challenge her as she goes through life.

Based on these chart factors alone, I easily can see Tucson Girl involved in  peaceful sit-ins as a public rebellion (a slight dichotomy there) targeting atrocities against planet Earth or the destruction of a city park for the sake of commerce.  Yet this may come later in life, after she first gains a firm understanding of herself.

Billings Girl, on the other hand, has her Ascendant at 26 degrees Capricorn and Descendant at 26 degrees Cancer.  Her personality likely will develop through her work/career.  With 26 we see another relationship number, this one perhaps with karmic ties.  Here the 6 (love, nurturing) supports one-on-one relationships (2).  And 26 reduces to 8 (2 + 6 = 8), showing the potential for great gain–and challenge–around money and/or bringing ideas into their highest form.

Her Cancer Descendant indicates a strong emphasis on family relationships.  The Descendant marks the beginning of the House of Marriage and Partnerships, and Cancer’s natural home is in the House of Family and Roots.  Again, the potential exists for this to be another chance to bring better outcomes through those she’s connected with earlier in life or in other lifetimes.  These may appear as either family members or close work associates (Capricorn).  And with Leo also a strong influence in her House of Marriage and Partnerships, this may build toward her becoming a more independent spirit or breaking the bonds of co-dependency later in life.  Jupiter retrograde at 22 degrees Leo again focuses the energy of self-empowerment on inner growth for the sake of peace.

Based on these chart factors alone, I could see Billings Girl with a big, fat piggy bank (Do children even have those anymore?) in childhood, planning how she’ll own a magnificent home one day that she designed herself.  As an adult that may shift to a career in real estate.  The number 26/8 may present more that a few “growth opportunities” around relationships and finance.  Capricorn energy often brings an innate awareness of knowing what is worth fighting or striving for in life.  And this could prove one of her strongest underlying strengths.

Of course no one’s life can be drawn from one or two aspects, whether astrological or numeric.  We all are composites of many, many factors.  Yet this peek into the windows of these two girls’ blueprints highlights marked differences among multiple similarities–genetic and environmental factors or her Numbers Code notwithstanding.

So are those born at the same time (and even time zone) on the same date in the same country the same?  No–and yes.  These girls will experience the same generational challenges in nearly the same way, though they may demonstrate them differently.  They will share the characteristics of Sagittarius as their Sun Sign with communication (Mercury conjunct the Sun) strongly evidenced, especially with friends and group associations (11th House).  Travel will likely be a part of this picture as well.  Yet their careers and/or reputations could hold an air of secrecy or bring hidden truths to light (Scorpio in 10th House).  The picture continues to grow and strengthen with each aspect and number relationship we examine.

And so it goes for each of us.

Have you considered what a gift it would be for both parent and child to know the promises and challenges inherent in a child’s design?  Imagine how many points of argument and confusion could be avoided through this kind of awareness.  That’s priceless, wouldn’t you say?  If I can be of service in discovering this for someone you love, simply click the link below.

ID-100137748Can we talk?

The weather has lots of people talking again right now with a frigid front born in the Bering Sea swirling across North America in the next week. So what’s up with the weather?

My personal quest for answers led me to the fascinating subject of astrometeorology. (And there’s your mind-bustin’ vocabulary word for the day, friends.) Did you know that long before weather satellites dotted outer space or meteorologist highlighted daily forecasts for us, people looked to astrology to see what weather likely lay ahead?  Some swear to this day that astrometeorology offers a more accurate system for weather forecasting.  I can’t swear to this—yet—but since I see astronumerology clearly depicting so many other aspects of our lives, why not this as well?

Let’s take a look at what the planets—and numbers—may show us for the days ahead.

Since Neptune rules all bodies of water and moisture in all forms, let’s look first at it.  Currently it lays at 4° Pisces.  The number 4 is a foundational number that lays the structure and form of things.  It also is the number of the Earth.  Since Pisces is Neptune’s home sign, that strengthens its effects.  And since it is now retrograde, that means this is a “retesting” period of when Neptune last hit this degree from January 27th through February 22nd of 2014.  What was the weather like then?  Did you experience any other water issues then like leaky pipes, flooded basements or clogged drains?  Things don’t always appear in like form during a retest, but the underlying foundational issues it triggered may reappear if not fully addressed and resolved then.

Looking at the current weather sweeping most of the U.S. and Canada, realize that Neptune’s influence, astrometeorologically, is to bring cool, wet weather.  For frigid weather, look to Saturn, the most cooling planet of all.

Saturn is now steadily advancing through the late degrees of Scorpio.  One thing Saturn does is retest Nature’s laws.  In other words, the retests keep coming until you learn to live in harmony with the laws of Nature, rather than ignoring or obstructing them.  Scorpio energy makes you dig for the truth.

Saturn rules Capricorn, the most cooling sign.   Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, currently lays in CapricornWhenever two planets appear in each other’s home signs, it intensifies the energy of everything they touch.  These two are currently in a hard aspect (semi-square), which afflicts Pluto.  When Pluto is afflicted, this planet that normally warms now cools.  In weather, Saturn brings extremes.  To intensify this, Mars is conjunct (next to) Pluto, adding even more power to the mix.  And with this dynamic, even Mars’ fiery nature cannot “warm” only activate what Pluto and Saturn put into play.

Venus, itself either neutral or slightly cooling, conjuncts Saturn in Scorpio bringing a sobering effect that is really out of character for this planet. Saturn depresses though cold and extreme moisture.  Tough love perhaps?

Now look at Jupiter.  There it sits at 21° Leo, creating a square to the Venus/Saturn conjunction. Squares require action, and Jupiter expands everything it touches.  (Got your snow blowers gassed up and snow shovels ready?)  The number 21 reduces to 3 (2 + 1 = 3), the number of creativity and good humor.  So look for the laughter begging to lighten the mood and see how creative you can be amidst it all.  (Snow creatures, anyone?)  Let your smile warm the hearts of those around you.  Be the blessing you want to receive.

Looking again to the numbers, not only is the number 4 frequently activated in November, so is the number 11.  Take November 11th, for example.  This calendar day number coupled with the 11 calendar month automatically intensifies the energy.  Eleven is a Master Number powerful in itself.  It always says it’s time to step through another gateway in life into the unknown.  Intensifying this even more is the Pluto-Mars conjunction at 11°.  Now that’s P.O.W.E.R.

Speaking of power, Neptune goes direct November 16th. Planetary movements feel strongest just around the time they go retrograde or direct. The 16/7 intensifies the energy of the 7 Universal Year, so look for new insights on deep and/or spiritual levels.  Guard against the possibility of accidents that the 16 can bring.  Accidents can bring insights (don’t I know) but I highly recommend inviting other avenues for them to appear.  (smile)

Another day to watch for weather this month is November 18th when the Sun conjuncts Saturn at 26° Scorpio.  This can make Saturn’s frigid effects even greater.  (Yes, the Sun warms, but not in this astrological context.  Sorry.)  Plus, the number 26 can bring people and/or events from your past. Ah, yes, another retest.  If this happens, remember to use the power of the number 8 (2 + 6 = 8) to form (or reform) something wonderfully new and lasting for all infinity.   How does it get any better than that, right?

Another 26 to note is the 26th of this month when the ongoing Pluto-Uranus square becomes exact again. The energy already is building toward that which will intensify aspects of change and rebellion worldwide on many fronts. Uranus, also a cooling planetactivates things suddenly, often giving force to Pluto’s long-range intent. Pluto, love him or hate him, is the planet that forces change upon us whether we want it or not.   His intent is to destroy anything that stands in the way of our evolutionary growth, personally and collectively.  Changing weather patterns across the globe mark just one aspect of that.

So there you have it, my friends, my synoptic view of the story behind the weather that has us talking. It’s just one more peek behind the veil of the mysterious working of this fantastic cosmic adventure we all share.

Hot chocolate, anyone?

The partial Solar Eclipse/New Moon on October 23rd got a lot of hype—and for good The Solar System by nattakit; freedigitalphotos.netreason.  Not only was it the counterpart in a historical astrological event prophesied for centuries as part of a rare tetrad (For more info, check here:  It also combined the power and blended dynamics of the Sun, Moon, and Venus at 0° Scorpio with two other planets (Mercury and Saturn) tossed in the mix.  And that’s just the beginning, so let’s get personal.

Whenever we look at a major cosmic event such as this, it’s super smart to see where it will occur in your own astrology chart and in relation to your personal numbers code. Did you do that?  If so you get three gold stars.  Yea for you!  Yet seeing the impact as it relates to you personally gets lost in a maze of lines and symbols without some training.  I realize that.  So let’s look as some generalities many felt during this time.  See if any of this rang true for you, now that you can view it in retrospect, and what part of your life it affects most going forward (determined by house position).

First let’s look at Scorpio.  The energy of this sign is known for its intensity and sobering influence.  No cosmic energy is “out to get you,” yet this one feels like it sometimes.  Why?  Because it, in combination with its ruling planet Pluto, will destroy anything that stands in the way of your true path in life.  The intent and design is for our own good but can be painful and/or disturbing in the process.  (Brings back childhood memories of when we were told, “I’m doing this for your own good,” doesn’t it?)

In Scorpio we face duplicitous events like betrayal and abandonment, loss and trust (or lost trust), power and control.  It unearths our deepest passions and our deepest fears.

Enter Saturn.  This planet has been crawling through Scorpio for what seems like f.o.r.e.v.e.r. Saturn makes us face our fears and responsibilities—not always in that order.  In Scorpio, that means digging for the underlying truth of everything because that is Scorpio’s headlining theme: TRUTH.  And Saturn in this sign will make finding, seeing, and acting on that truth your Number 1 priority.

“Face your fears and walk through them,” he says. “Shoulder your responsibilities; stop denying or running from them.  NOW!”

Since this eclipse combo happened at the Libra/Scorpio cusp, Libra’s energy and transiting planets played a part as well.  There Mercury (direct again as on October 25th) lay at arm’s length from the North Node, highlighting the importance of honest communication in moving us forward from here.  The North Node looks at our present and future.  Consequently this duo pushed every hot button imaginable around communication.  With Uranus (in Aries) in opposition to this Libra-based energy and the Moon so directly involved, emotions spewed in unexpected ways.  Tempers flared, sadness surfaced, tears flowed in response to personal and collective happenings.  Why were we so touchy?  The answer is a familiar one: To allow us another opportunity to see—and feel– our truth on deeper levels.

Many were triggered by news events; in the U.S. newsfeeds buzzed with a new Ebola scare in New York City, a massive airbag recall and stock market volatility, followed by another school shooting incident and word of a volcanic lava flow threatening a town in Hawaii. (No shortage of fear and distress provocations on this planet, have you noticed?)  For others, the triggers hit within the home/marriage.

The Sun and Moon lit this up in undeniable ways for each of us, in personal and collective ways, through this New Moon/partial Solar Eclipse.  Whether we acknowledge it or not, we landed on a new stage to begin a real-life performance that will play out over the next 6 months to a year.  And for some, even longer than that.  Can you see the opening scene yet?  If not, trust the process and allow more clarity to come over time.  With Mars entering Capricorn October 26th, slow and steady remains our speed for now, even in times of powerful action.  And November promises to bring its share of action, believe me.

To prepare us for that, a beautiful trine (harmonious energy) October 28th between the Sun-Venus conjunction and Neptune at 4°Pisces encourages us to address foundational issues to make new possibilities real.  The number 4 brings structure, foundation, and labor into the picture.  Use the power, love, and spiritual insights seen and felt in the past week as the initial directors of your new reality.  Know that it is only the beginning of developing the character and storyline this next scene will portray.

Are you ready? Of course you are!  You were born ready and able to star in the truth of your own life story with all the uniqueness and variation only you can imagine.  And how cool is that?

Till soon…

Gemini by Salvatore Vuono;

Have you ever wondered why travel intensifies in late May, roaring into the first three weeks of June?  Gemini and the 3rd House activation, that’s why.  It’s true.  When the Sun moves into Gemini the travel bug bites like a mosquito on steroids.  (And you thought it was all due to holidays, special events, and better weather.) Somehow we sense this ahead of time with reservations in place so all we have to do is take off.  Arrivederci, baby!  It’s time to go visiting and explore.

May 20th marks the start of this cosmic energy.  Let’s see how the numbers in play help define it this year.

Twenty is a relationship number—a potentially challenging one– and the 20th is a 14/5 Universal Day in a 12/3 Universal Month of a 7 Universal Year.  While I often refer to 14/5 as the media number, it also can denote an inability to focus on one thing long enough to master it.  And that, my friends, is quite indicative of Gemini.  (More on that in a moment.)  Gemini also rules the 3rd House in astrology, the house of communication, relatives, and mobility.  Very Mercurial, right?  Yet Gemini starts with the letter G, which carries a 7 vibration.  That’s the number of silence and deep insights, so not Gemini.  How can that be?  Let’s take a look.

The glyph for this sign is The Twins.  In early astrology this denoted a “good twin” and an “evil twin,” both parts of the Gemini’s personality.  This can indeed show up in some born under this sign.  Yet even more the twin aspect indicates a split focus.   This creates highly impulsive actions stemming from different directions though often with a common aim.  Notice I say aim.  Geminis get easily distracted so lose interest if something new and shiny catches their attention.  Yet mastery is never the goal with this energy.  Seeing is.  Seeing with what astrologer Steven Forrest calls “raw perception” based on undigested facts.  Can you see how the unfocused 14/5 could ignite that energy?  This may manifest as restlessness in mind and body, resulting in insomnia, by the way.

The 3rd House plays strongly this month anyway with May being a 12/3 Universal Month.  Yet with Gemini, communication is driven by a quest for information.  Geminis are notoriously good communicators who ask a lot of questions.  You noticed?  Yea, I’ll bet you did.  Sometimes this is indicative of unbalanced energy.  Most of the time, however, it is that drive to “see” everything.  This can demonstrate beyond traveling through ideas to actually traveling to see more of what’s “out there.”  And that can spark the playful side of the number 3, making these people a lot of fun to hang out with.  Just don’t expect them to get too serious about anything.

And here we segway to our number 7, a much more serious number by design.  How can this vibration be a primary number of Gemini?  Two ways.  Intellectual insights and electrical energy.  Both aspects of the number fuel this sign.  Plus the M in the middle, carrying a 4 vibration, brings interest in the material plane.  This directs the 7 energy toward the desired outcome of the word as shown in the final I.  This letter holds a 9 vibration, a number that contains the energy of all the numbers before it.  It brings culminations, endings, and great compassion often fueling zealous humanitarianism.  See how that Gemini energy can elevate to a truly beautiful level in ways of being?

As I said, 20 can be a challenging relationship number and sets the tone as we enter this sign.  This number depends on successful one-on-one communication.  The 0 denotes divine support in bringing that about.  Being aware of that can make all the difference.  Just realize that communication with a Gemini will likely stem from the mind.   To quote an old Dragnet line (a TV cop show), “Give me the facts, ma’am, just the facts.” This could be the lead to any Gemini conversation.

Having said that, let me emphasize that this Gemini overview is a generalization.  The aspects in the person’s astrology chart and numbers code could intensify or modify this greatly.  There is no such thing as cookie-cutter astrology or numerology.   And aren’t we glad!  It’s the variations that make you you and me me, each unique in our own way.  Yet this is the energy we all will sense to some degree for the next 30 days.

And with Mars now going direct (as of the 19th) it’s time to empower that uniqueness like never before.  So power on and see what you can see, my friend.  It’s all part of the plan.

Carolina Kostner, 2014 Olympic Bronze Medalist

Carolina Kostner, 2014 Olympic Bronze Medalist

When Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner took to the ice in Sochi last week in the 2014 Winter Olympics, she faced one nemesis she likely had never met by name: the 4-8 factorThis “competitor” was not listed by name on the roster, nor did it receive any grand announcements from the microphone.  Yet it was Carolina’s silent companion the whole time.  Curious?  Well read on, my friend, read on.

This anomaly appears when 4s and 8s appear in any combination between the Life Purpose (Birth Path), Day of Birth, and Current Name.  It is a karmic indicator that says this person agreed to resolve issues—a lot of issues—from previous lifetimes along with those that formed in the early years of this lifetime.  These often involve the reappearance of people with whom those issues were left unresolved.  Those with 8s and 4s in their numbers energetically, and often unwittingly, draw others with these numbers into their lives.   They also will find 4s and 8s appear with significance in dates, addresses, phone numbers, etc.   It’s a magnetic attraction in the truest sense of the word, sometimes pleasant (at least at first), sometimes not.  Yet the underlying reason for the attraction must be satisfied.

This resolve is strongest for those born on the 8th of any month and can lend to a more fatalistic approach to life.  This is especially so for Aquarians and Capricorns.  Carolina is an Aquarian, born February 8, 1987.

Birth numbers tell the story.  Her Life Purpose number reduces to 35/8.  Her Day of Birth is 8.  And her Destiny Number is 67/13/4. Whenever 4s and 8s appear together in the key numbers of a person’s birth code, that energy will permeate his/her entire lifetime.

Numerology purists might argue that this is not a true 4-8 factor since the Destiny is not considered part of the equation.  A closer look at other factors makes me think otherwise.  You see, Carolina’s Current Name and Destiny are derived from the same name: CAROLINA KOSTNER.  She has no middle name, from what I could ascertain.   In the ancient Chaldean system I use for Current name vibrations, this equates to a 23/5, a fortunate number indeed and has assisted her along the way.  Yet since it also carries the 67/13/4, that number must not be ignored.  Another red flag appears; there are no 4s or 8s in her name numbers.  This means she must work intensely with the meaning of these numbers (both in the Manifestation Triad) this lifetime.  That’s the deal, the agreement before birth.

So how has this shown up in her life?  Let’s look at her 12-years of skating competitions for clues.  (Thanks to Wikipedia.  They do such a great job on things like this, don’t they?)  This athlete started skating at the age of (drum roll, please…) 4.   Her first competitions were the 2004 European Championships and 2004 World Championships.  You see what I see, right?  She won her first European medal in 2006 (2+0+0+6=8) and was the flag bearer for her first Olympics that year where she placed 12th. (Remember, 12 is the victim number if not in its highest expression.)

Her life continued this pattern of victory and loss as injury beset her that same year, keeping her out of the Grand Prix season.  She recovered and continued in competition the next year, making a strong showing in the short program of the 2007 Worlds but faltering in the long program to end in 6th place.  (Six is the stabilizing number for 8, by the way.)  In 2008 she made several strong performances throughout the year leading her to a silver medal at the 2008 Worlds Championships.  Yet as the year progressed into the 2008-2009 season, her amateur skating career hit the skids again.  She made a poor showing at her first Grand Prix, lost her European title, dropped to a 12th place finish at the World Championships, and caused Italy only to claim one ladies spot in the upcoming 2010 Olympics.

After 8 years training with her coach, Michael Huth, she changed coaches, leaving Italy to train in California.  About a year later homesickness drove her back home to Italy and her former coach.  (Unfinished business?)

In December 2009, she nearly lost her chance at the Vancouver Games, then swung back to win a gold medal at the 2010 European Championships.  Yet her jumps just weren’t solid anymore and her downward spiral continued.  She slipped to 16th place in 2010 Winter Olympics. (Sixteen can bring accidents or unexpected happenings to bring deeper insights.)

Was it time to give up skating, she wondered.  Her faith in herself and her skating ability hit an all-time low.  Following her mother’s advice, she got back to her true love of skating and altered her program with an emphasis on artistry rather than jumps.

The 2014 Winter Olympics drew Carolina to her third Olympic competition.  As the world watched, she skated perfection to “Ava Maria” for her short program, positioning her temporarily in 2nd place.  She was later edged out by Russian skater Adelina Sotnikova and dropped to 3rd.  Yet this position held for her through the long program the next day.  She claimed the bronze medal in Ladies Free Skate, her first Olympic win and a first win ever for Italy in this competition.

Oh, here’s a little aside.  The numbers of her perfectly executed short program score (142.61) totaled 14/5, the media number reinforced by the 2014 calendar year and the positive vibration of her Current Name (23/5).  And Carolina is now in a 17/8 Personal Year, the number of leaving a legacy behind.  How cool is that?

As one commentator noted, hers is a story of perseverance.  Indeed it is—and a remarkable example of how the 4-8 factor plays out in real life.
